Predator Arrested After Intending To Meet Minor, Authorities Believe More Victims Are To Be Discovered

A 41-year-old man was arrested on June 7th after authorities were tipped o about him communicating with minors through social media apps. Gerry Frank Burde of Herndon, Virginia was discovered to have been in communication with minors through Snapchat and Whisper, two social media apps using the usernames “drunkslovepunch” (Snapchat) and “tempo_ex” (Whisper). A community member tipped o detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Child Exploitation Unit that he had contacted a minor and had intended to meet them at Tysons Corner where he was apprehended and subsequently arrested. He was charged with communications to solicit a minor, attempted forcible intercourse with a victim under 13 years old and indecent liberties with a child under 15.

Given his social media history and the corroborating evidence, authorities believe that he may have contacted other minors through social media or in person.
