Best Selling Author Arrested on Possession of CSAM

In a recently developing story, it was discovered that Brendan Dubois, a 64-year-old best-selling author, was arrested on six felony counts of CSAM possession on July 10th. Authorities searched his home in May where they discovered 5,600 images on his laptop that were flagged as “possible child abuse content”. Google first notified authorities back in March when a user was discovered to use Google Drive to store some of the aforementioned material. Upon seizing his laptop and hard drive, authorities discovered explicit material that portrayed children between the ages of infanthood to the age of 12.

Upon his arrest, his publishers at Severn River Books removed him from their website as well as halting the sales of his books on their platform. Dubois was well known for being the author of 26 novels with some collaborations with other notable authors such as James Patterson. Dubois was also known for being a winning contestant on Jeopardy back in 2012 where he won $23,000. Dubois was denied bail at his most recent hearing on August 8th and is currently remaining in custody at Rockingham County jail.
