Brooklyn High School Teacher and former Jeopardy Winner Arrested on Underage Material Possession Charges
Parents of students who attend a private high school in Brooklyn were shocked to discover that one of their teachers was arrested on possession of underage sexual content. Winston Nguyen, a teacher at St. Ann’s was arrested and charged with pretending to be a teenager to solicit sexual material from other teenagers on the platform. He managed to solicit 6 teenagers from four dierent private schools including St. Ann’s and was arrested in front of his students this past June. Parents and the community were alarmed at the fact that Nguyen, who had a prior arrest charge in 2019 for stealing $300,000 from an elderly couple who he had worked for as a caretaker, had not had a diligent enough background check done on him. Saint Anne’s is a private school in Brooklyn that costs $60k a year for high school students to attend and boasts alumni such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lena Dunham and other notable graduates.
Nguyen’s arrest nearly got him behind bars again due to the risk of violating his probation stemming from his previous arrest charges in 2019. Nguyen also made news prior in 2014 when he was a winning contestant on season 30 of Jeopardy where he won a prize of $10,067. His habit of preying on not only the elderly but children now as well is extremely alarming.
